Mō tēnei tūranga | About the Opportunity

Initial 12 month fixed term contract

Based in Palmerston North

As a Full Stack Developer, you will be responsible for building applications for our research department (FRDC) including Generative AI applications.

You will collaborate with other engineers, data scientists, product managers and stakeholders to ensure quality and performance. As well as DevOps Engineers to deploy the application to Fonterra’ Azure environment.

There are opportunities to influence Architecture, and Design. Fonterra’s close relationship with Microsoft and other large software vendors also provides opportunity to network with likeminded experts in the industry.

Mōu | About You

You’re a proactive and curious application developer with a strong engineering mindset and a passion for building modern, scalable web applications. You have hands-on experience across the full development lifecycle, with particular strength in backend development using Python and frontend development with React and JavaScript. You’re comfortable translating business requirements into well-designed technical solutions and enjoy working across both client- and server-side technologies.

Experience with comparable languages and frameworks such as C# or Java is also valued, reflecting your eagerness to learn and continuously improve.
