About the opportunity | Te whai waahi

This is an exciting opportunity for the Procurement Specialist to play a key role in managing vendor relationships, terms of trade agreements, pricing, and the supply of products. Your efforts will ensure the optimization of category performance by achieving sales and margin targets. You will also serve as a key external contact for vendors, representing and communicating Farm Source's strategy and key initiatives.

Key Responsibilities include:

Support the implementation of the category strategy to drive performance.
Maintain strong working relationships with vendors to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Continuously monitor and evaluate category performance, considering product availability, DIFOT targets, margin targets, rebates targets, profitability performance, regulatory compliance, and market share growth.
Use analytics and insights to identify new opportunities and maximize overall category performance.
Establish and manage terms of trade and contracts with partners/vendors, ensuring compliance with company policy.
Develop a strong vendor network, including current and potential future vendors.
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Demand, and Vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods/services. - Lead data analysis and preparation for vendor negotiations.
Support and coordinate vendor negotiations with the Category Strategy Manager.
Build strong relationships with Store teams and Vendors to address customer and staff queries and assess opportunities for farmers.
Actively participate in ideation sessions to identify and pursue new opportunities.

You are resilient, have a competitive drive and a passion for the dairy industry, A self-starter with unparalleled stakeholder management skills, you will love to use your commercial nous to solve challenges. Your understanding and passion for agriculture will help you connect well with key stakeholders. You will need to be a natural strategic thinker, with experience in FMCG and/or retail.

In summary, you will have:

Procurement experience preferred in FMCG and/or retail.
Strong relationship building expertise.
Strong communication skills.
Negotiation experience
