We are looking for a Manager – Capital Projects to lead the development and execution of capital projects, ensuring alignment with Fonterra's values and business objectives. The individual will drive the CAPEX planning process, oversee the execution of project deliverables and ensure that all projects are compliant with safety, quality, regulatory, and financial governance. This person would also be responsible for engaging with global and local stakeholders, leading cross-functional discussions and ensuring timely project approvals.

What you would be doing:

• Develop and manage the CAPEX Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) Plan.
• Develop and implement the CAPEX Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) Plan.
• Drive the creation and execution of the 3-Year CAPEX Plan.
• Lead the Asset Masterplan to ensure long-term asset sustainability.
• Ensure that all projects comply with CAPEX Governance and Regulatory Compliance requirements.
• Regularly update on Global Capital Projects and ensure alignment with global standards.
• Review and Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for CAPEX projects.
• Provide Technical Data to support contract negotiations and execution.
• Review past learnings to implement improvements and drive project excellence.
• Drive discussions with Global and Local Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure projects meet technical and business requirements.
• Monitor CAPEX Governance to ensure project spending aligns with approved budgets.
• Track and Review Project Progress (G0 to G3), ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
• Conduct Work Done Approvals and approve project-related invoices.
• Oversee the CAPEX Regulatory Compliance, ensuring that all legal and safety regulations are met.
•  Actively engage with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive CAPEX initiatives.
• Lead discussions to foster collaboration with global and local teams, ensuring Fonterra’s values are upheld.
• Provide status updates to internal teams and senior management, offering insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Support Innovations through investment return analysis (IRR) and business case development.
• Lead the IM Pillar Phase Progression and monitor project phase advancements.
• Review Benefit Tracking to ensure projects deliver intended financial and operational results.
• Drive adherence to GES/FES Standards to ensure projects align with Fonterra’s global engineering standards.
• Develop comprehensive business cases to support CAPEX initiatives, including financial analysis and strategic alignment.
• Prepare detailed CAPEX gate process documents to guide project approvals and ensure compliance with governance standards.
• Create and maintain status reports, project documentation, and other essential reports to communicate project progress and outcomes effectively.
• Collaborate with the Procurement Team and Legal Department to negotiate and finalize contract terms with vendors and contractors.
• Monitor contract performance, ensuring compliance with agreed-upon specifications, timelines, and budgets.
• Address and resolve any contractual issues that arise during the project lifecycle.

Here’s what we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical & Process Engineering.
• Proven experience in CAPEX Project Management within an industrial or manufacturing environment more than 5 Years
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, financial governance, and health and safety standards.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams and working with global stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability in report writing, including developing business cases and CAPEX gate process documents.
• Experience in contract development and management for capital projects.
• Strong communication skills in both English & Sinhala.
