About us | He kupu mō mātou
Established in 1982, Stirling site is Fonterra’s only manufacturing site in the Otago region. Specialising in Cheese, the site has picked up awards from both in New Zealand and internationally for their Cheddar and Colby. Stirling produces around 10,500 20kgs blocks of cheese everyday. About the opportunity | Mō tēnei tūranga
We are on the lookout for operators to join our manufacturing team in Stirling starting in August 2025. These are fixed-term positions until approximately April 2026. Working on a rostered shift pattern, a role as an Operator is a fantastic opportunity if you are serious about advancing your career and keen to be part of a highly motivated and supportive team.
As a Process or Packing Operator, you'll be working in a control room or on the factory floor with your key responsibilities being:
• Setting up, checking and running automated production machinery
• Performing quality checks to ensure production meets world class standards
• Running machine diagnostics and problem solving
• Ensuring documentation is correct and complete
About you | Mōu
Your strong mechanical aptitude, planning and sound problem-solving skills will ensure things run smoothly; you won’t just find the problem, you'll be part of finding and implementing the solution.
Together with a good work ethic and a strong focus on health and safety, you’ll be physically fit and able to show a background of:
• Participating and contributing to a high performing team
• Operating touch screen machinery
• Food manufacturing experience is desirable
• Operating a Forklift with a current F and OSH would be helpful, but not essential
