About us
Fonterra Takanini, is a key dairy processing site in New Zealand. It produces fresh milk, UHT, and cultured dairy products for well-known brands like Anchor, Fresh n’ Fruity, and Primo. The site plays a vital role in delivering high-quality dairy to consumers while driving innovation and sustainability in the industry.
About the role
This role is responsible for providing expert guidance on injury management, rehabilitation, and occupational health, ensuring employees receive the support they need to safely return to work. This role will be responsible for managing ACC claims, coaching people leaders, and driving early intervention programs, while partnering with payroll, external agencies, and internal health & safety teams to deliver best-practice rehabilitation and support to our workforce. Key responsibilities:
- Lead work injury claims management, ensuring compliance with ACC requirements and best practices
- Facilitate early intervention programs, supporting employees experiencing discomfort and preventing injury escalation
- Work collaboratively to develop return-to-work programs, ensuring injured employees are supported through their recovery
- Advise leaders and stakeholders on injury prevention, health monitoring, and occupational health initiatives
- Manage weekly compensation entitlements in partnership with ACC, TPA, and Payroll teams, ensuring timely and accurate payments
- Drive workplace health promotion, risk mitigation, and exposure monitoring to support employee wellbeing
- Provide subject matter expertise on complex ACC claims and lead the business’s readiness for AEP application and audits (when accredited)
- Collaborate with internal Health, Safety & Wellbeing teams to create a safer and healthier work environment
About You
This role requires a dedicated and knowledgeable professional with a strong background in nursing, allied health, or rehabilitation. A successful candidate will have excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to provide expert guidance on injury management, claims handling, and return-to-work programs. Strong administrative capabilities and attention to detail are essential. You can also demonstrate:
- Background in nursing, allied health, or occupational rehabilitation (essential).
- Strong stakeholder management and leadership coaching skills
- Exceptional administrative ability to manage claims, payroll queries, and compliance processes
- Expertise in ACC claims management, compensation entitlements, and return-to-work programs
- Passion for employee health, injury prevention, and wellbeing initiatives
