About the opportunity 

As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring the mechanical upkeep of our production lines, maintaining all machinery to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Your role will involve proactively identifying and resolving issues, utilizing your strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and repair breakdowns swiftly. You will also perform scheduled preventive maintenance daily to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.

 You will also support key Maintenance & Engineering initiatives such as new line setups and continuous improvement programs.

This role involves working on a 9-week rotating roster, averaging 38 hours per week, with a mix of 12-hour shifts (3 days on, 4 days off) and an Afternoon shift 9-hour, 5-day week every 9 weeks. You will also be required to participate in a week of on-call duty. The position includes a 3-month onboarding period, initially on day shift, to help you integrate smoothly into the team. You will join a skilled team of 18 experienced electricians and fitters, working collaboratively to ensure optimal performance across our operations.

 What you’ll bring

 Your ability to flex between BAU, breakdowns, and project work, PM as well as your problem-solving mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, will be highly valued, along with:

·         C8 Qualification: Holder of a C8 qualification, demonstrating advanced technical expertise.

·         Welding Experience: Skilled in various welding techniques, ensuring high-quality workmanship.

·         Machine Tool Operation: Proficient in operating machine tools, including lathes and mills, with a focus on precision.

·         Computer Literacy: Experienced with MEX or similar CMMS systems for efficient data management and scheduling.

·         Manufacturing Experience: Practical experience in fast-paced environments such as FMCG or pharmaceuticals, emphasizing quality and productivity.

·         Fault-Finding and Problem-Solving: Strong ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly, minimizing downtime.

·         Delivery-Focused: Results-oriented with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines and quality standards.

·         Team Player and Communicator: Collaborative and effective communicator, working well across teams to achieve goals.
